About the Exhibition

Corinne and Tony met in 2015 in Sydney and instantly felt an affinity through their work. With Tony's first book of poetry in the pipeline, they decided to collaborate. Corinne produced a series of paintings, some of them interpreting Tony's poems, to exhibit at his pre-publishing launch in Hobart in August.

Tony's poems and Corinne’s paintings offer you an alternative to the often chaotic pace of contemporary life, where incessant sounds and images crowd out stillness and contemplation. Their works are a celebration of the grandeur and simplicity of life, of heartbreaks and heartaches, of aspirations, triumphs and failures. Sometimes they are joyful and light, at other times rich in pathos and anguish. As you experience words and images you can apprehend beauty and hope, affirming the resilience and transcendence of your spirit.
